Pilgrim Paddles LLC provides guided tours, trip consultation and training for youth and adults in the paddlesport of your choice. Past events have included Northern Tier Canoebase and BWCA training, birthday parties, business teaming, and fall color cruises. We collaborate with Good Dog Camp for paddling with canine partners, especially Standup Paddleboarding. We also provide advice on gear, and advocate supporting local family-run businesses like Tyrol Ski and Sport, and Minnesota-made gear from Cooke Custom Sewing.
We offer ACA skill assessments to verify a paddler’s skill level without attending a full class. Filed with the ACA, they can reduce your rental fees and satisfy employee training requirements. Pilgrim Paddles LLC can assess skills up to and including instructor levels in solo and tandem canoe, river and sea kayak, and standup paddleboard.
Volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America must have ACA instruction to qualify as a merit badge counselor. BSA also recommends units have at least one scouter complete PaddleCraft Safety. Units have consulted with us for planning high adventure trips on their own to the Bighorns and the Boundary Waters, to Philmont for backpacking or horsepacking, to Northern Tier, and to Seabase. American Heritage Girl Scouts are also happy customers.
We repair wood, composite, and polyethylene boats as well as maintain outfitting. Need a seat re-caned, a paddle split repaired, new gunwhales, or a kneeling thwart? Does your fiberglass or kevlar boat have a crack, need its bottom refinished, or skid pads installed? Need the lines or shock cord replaced on your kayak, or is your rudder or skeg not working? Contact us for an estimate or some free advice on how to do it yourself.
